What the Gold Card route covers
A remote, assessor-led NVQ route matched to the candidate’s occupation and the qualification required for the relevant Gold card. Exact qualification title, units and evidence requirements are confirmed before enrolment. Candidates must already be working in a relevant supervisory or occupational role and comply with the eligibility requirements set by the selected qualification.
How the NVQ process works
NVQs assess occupational competence rather than requiring a fixed classroom course. Candidates typically compile workplace evidence and complete assessor-led professional discussions or other assessment activities required by the qualification and awarding body.
CSCS requirements
Gold card requirements vary by card type and occupation. For the Gold Supervisor card, CSCS requires an appropriate construction-related Supervisory or Technical NVQ/SVQ at Level 3 or 4 together with the appropriate CITB Health, Safety and Environment test. SSSTS is useful supervisory safety training, but CSCS states that SSSTS itself is not accepted as the occupational qualification for a CSCS card. The required CITB Health, Safety and Environment test is booked directly with CITB.
Delivery
The qualification support and assessment offered through SiteCourses is remote online. The relevant awarding body and provider details are confirmed before enrolment.
CSCS card eligibility depends on the applicant’s occupation, qualification and current card-scheme rules. Check the official CSCS requirements.
