Who is SMSTS Refresher for?
Existing site managers who previously passed the full SMSTS or a subsequent SMSTS Refresher and need to keep their knowledge and certification current.
Entry requirements
A valid, in-date SMSTS certificate is required. CITB states that if the certificate has expired, the delegate must normally retake the full SMSTS course.
Course schedule
SMSTS Refresher is scheduled up to eight times per month. The recurring rule uses the last full Thursday–Friday and Saturday–Sunday combinations that fit entirely inside the same calendar month. Around some holiday periods, a Monday–Tuesday date may replace a normal slot. Current supplied dates remain subject to provider confirmation.
Course duration and online delivery
The current listing is delivered remotely online. Under the current CITB Site Safety Plus scheme rules, SMSTS Refresher requires 2 days / 15 hours of attendance. Remote courses are subject to the scheme’s participation and quality-assurance requirements.
Remote course equipment requirements
Learners are required to have access to:
- a suitable computer, laptop or other approved device;
- a reliable internet connection;
- a working camera and microphone;
- suitable identification;
- any required software or video conferencing platform; and
- a quiet and appropriate environment in which to participate.
Phones, mobile devices and tablets are not permitted for use on these courses.
Assessment
Full attendance and the end-of-course assessment are required under the current Site Safety Plus scheme rules.
Certificate
Successful completion renews the CITB Site Safety Plus certification for five years.
