What happens if I fail my SSSTS?

The current SSSTS pass mark is 24 out of 30 (80%), and all four safety-critical questions must also be answered correctly. A delegate who passes the trainer review and scores 21, 22 or 23 out of 30 while passing the safety-critical questions may take one re-sit. A delegate who scores 24 or more but fails a safety-critical question may also re-sit. The re-sit may be offered on the same day if the delegate agrees and has adequate preparation time, or it can be taken during the examination period on the final day of another SSSTS course, or as a standalone examination, within 30 days. The full course does not normally need to be repeated before that first eligible re-sit. If the re-sit is failed, the full SSSTS course must be taken again. The provider may charge for the re-sit. An initial score of 20 out of 30 or below is outside the current re-sit range and requires the full course to be taken again.

What does the SSSTS exam involve?

The current SSSTS examination lasts 30 minutes and contains 25 questions worth 30 marks: 22 multiple-choice questions and 3 short written questions. The pass mark is 24 out of 30 (80%), and all four safety-critical questions must also be answered correctly. Delegates may use the current Construction site supervision (GE706) publication for the final 10 minutes. Questions cover the course learning outcomes, including areas such as risk assessment, work at height, legal duties, communication, toolbox talks, occupational health and general site safety.

How should I revise for SSSTS?

Review your current course material, then use the SSSTS revision guide with fresh mock tests and practice questions to focus on weak topics.

Where can I find an SSSTS mock test?

SiteCourses provides a free interactive SSSTS mock test with practice questions, scores and answer explanations.

Are SiteCourses SSSTS practice papers official CITB papers?

No. SiteCourses practice papers and questions are independent revision resources and are not official CITB examination papers.

Can I download an SSSTS practice paper?

Yes. You can use the SiteCourses SSSTS practice paper PDF alongside the interactive mock tests.
