The full SMSTS course is a five-day management safety course. The SMSTS Refresher is a shorter two-day route intended for learners renewing an appropriate current certificate.
When is the refresher normally appropriate?
If you hold the relevant current, in-date SMSTS certificate and need to renew it, the refresher route may be appropriate. Eligibility should be confirmed before booking because the training provider must be satisfied that the refresher requirements are met.
What if your SMSTS has expired?
If the relevant certificate has expired, the full SMSTS course may be required rather than the refresher. Do not assume that booking a refresher after expiry will be accepted; contact us and we can confirm the route before you commit.
How do the options compare?
- Full SMSTS: 5 days / 37.5 hours, currently £399 £478.80 incl. VAT.
- SMSTS Refresher: 2 days / 15 hours, currently £285 £342 incl. VAT.
Both are currently offered by SiteCourses as remote online options, subject to provider confirmation.
What equipment is needed?
You need a suitable computer or laptop, reliable internet, camera and microphone, suitable identification, required software and a quiet training environment. Phones, mobile devices and tablets are not permitted.
