What evidence do you need for a Level 2 construction NVQ?

Evidence comes from the work you actually do

Your assessor matches an evidence plan to the occupational units, your tasks and access to suitable work. Typical evidence includes:

  • Workplace observations of normal trade tasks
  • Photos or videos of work and its different stages
  • Professional discussions about methods, tools, safety and procedures
  • Witness statements from supervisors or experienced colleagues
  • Job sheets, method statements, risk assessments and other relevant workplace documents
  • Knowledge questions explaining why work is carried out in a particular way

Make evidence clear and traceable

Show what you did, when and where you did it, and how it relates to your trade. Ask permission before sharing workplace records or identifiable photos and follow site rules. Your assessor checks authenticity, relevance and any gaps.

Knowledge can be discussed

For candidates on our approved video discussion option, the assessor records verbal answers during two two-hour calls. Workplace competence still needs suitable evidence.
