How to get a Blue CSCS card with a Level 2 NVQ

Match your trade to the qualification

The relevant Level 2 occupational NVQ can support a Blue Skilled Worker card application for many construction trades. It needs to match your role: a carpentry qualification does not qualify you for an unrelated occupation.

Check the test and card scheme

Applicants normally need the appropriate CITB Health, Safety and Environment test passed within the last two years. The standard Blue Skilled Worker card is normally valid for five years. Plant, lifting and some specialist occupations may use a different card scheme, so check your occupation before choosing a route.

Begin with your candidate details

Select your trade and supply your role, employer and experience. We arrange an assessor meeting to verify the appropriate qualification before registration.

Check the official CSCS Blue Skilled Worker requirements, CSCS assessment route guidance and an example Level 2 occupational qualification specification. Exact assessment requirements depend on the qualification selected. Prices, two two-hour calls and the minimum four-week portfolio period are SiteCourses service arrangements.
