Who is the refresher for?
The SSSTS Refresher is for learners with a current, valid SSSTS or SSSTS Refresher certificate. Have your certificate details ready so eligibility can be checked before training.
If your certificate has expired, contact us about the full SSSTS route rather than assuming you can use a refresher to renew it. Do not rely on a date shown in a booking calendar as confirmation that you are eligible.
Book before your certificate expires
CITB states that SSSTS certification is valid for five years and should be refreshed before expiry. Review your certificate date early and allow time to find a suitable course and confirm the required arrangements.

How long is the course?
The refresher is a one-day course, compared with the full two-day SSSTS course. The SiteCourses remote option is live online training, not a self-paced programme. You need to attend the required sessions and complete the assessment arrangements.
Plan a clear day for training. Joining while carrying out site duties can prevent you from participating properly, even if your internet connection is working.
Prepare your equipment
Use a laptop or desktop computer with a working camera, microphone and reliable internet connection. Have the required identification ready and use a quiet space where you can take part throughout the course. Phones and tablets are not suitable for the advertised remote route.
Check your joining instructions before the day, including the start time, required documents and how to join the live session. Raise any technical or eligibility questions before training begins.
